About the Recipe

This is a classic Thai flavor peanut dipping sauce. It’s made with ingredients like peanut butter, soy sauce, honey and sesame oil (see full list below). It’s not a spicy sauce (unless you want to make it spicy)!

The consistency of this sauce is perfect for dipping, it’s thick and just a little creamy. If you like your sauce thinner, you can add water until it’s your desired consistency.

Peanut Dipping Sauce (Easy 2 Step Recipe & Only 6 Ingredients) (2)

Peanut Dipping Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari sauce)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp chili paste
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 tsp hoisin sauce (optional)

How to Make Peanut Dipping Sauce

Step 1:

In a medium mixing bowl, add all ingredients. Whisk together to combine.

Step 2:

Add water to thin your sauce as needed. Add a splash of water at a time until it reaches your desired consistency. If your sauce is too thick, add more peanut butter. Add more spice (chili paste) or acidity (lime juice) or sweetness (honey) to fit your taste preferences.

TIP: Red pepper flakes are another fun way to add spice to this sauce. Sprinkle in a few as you stir your sauce.

Followed recipe exactly as posted but ended up adding a ton more chili paste to reach my desired spiciness. Used as a dip for spring rolls & have plans to use the leftovers on top of Ramen. All in all a great recipe and one I will be making again!

Love this recipe. I served it to my 3 year old grand-daughter with wonton and cucumber. She loved it and so did I.
