25 Healthy Vegan Recipes for Kids (2024)

Since my son decided to go vegetarian I have been experimenting with more meat free and vegan options. There are so many great vegan recipe for kids, and adults, out there and just because the recipe don’t contain any animal products certainly doesn’t mean that they are lacking in taste and flavour. So, I have rounded up some of my absolute favourite vegan baby led weaning recipe and vegan recipe for kids below. Take a look at these 25 delicious recipe and get cooking!

Vegan Butternut Squash Soup

This is a recipe for butternut squash soup that you have to save in your bookmarks – or even better press print and make it today! It is a great vegan baby food and works well if you make a double batch and freeze in little zip-lock bag portions, perfect for busy days. Another great tip is to store in a mini muffin tin so you have little baby sized portions on hand always! When they are frozen, pop them out and place into freezer bags then label. When you come home from work at 6pm and your baby is REALLY hungry and can’t wait for food (which was always the case in our house), you can pop a little portion into a bowl and straight into the microwave. They defrost in less than 5 minutes! Serve with a little brown bread to soak it up and place it in front of your little one then let them get to work.

Sweet Potato & Chocolate Muffins

I absolutely love muffins and I think they are such an amazing food for little hands to hold and can be filled with amazing ingredients to make them super healthy. My aim with this recipe was to come up with a solution to an egg free muffin that still tastes really good. These turned out amazing and it is so hard to believe they are really good for you! As there is no egg in the batter it can be eaten raw so little hands can help with the cooking too.

Vegan Quiche

I have been experimenting with animal free ingredients since I started this project so that I can give vegan and vegetarian options for your lovely babies. Vegan quiches are not something that I thought would work but these proved me wrong and, completely fooled my 13 year old daughter (who is still walking around the kitchen in amazement that I used no egg). The pastry uses buckwheat flour and coconut oil and it works really well.

Morroccan Vegan Veggie Stew

I love Moroccan cuisine and all the colourful flavours it brings to table, so I wanted to create a baby-friendly, healthy family dinner that’s easy to cook, savoury, and truly encompasses the taste of Morocco. Introducing new spices in a variety of foods will help ease your little ones into their grown-up palettes, as well as (hopefully) help curb picky eating habits in the future.

This stew offers so many different textures and tastes — potatoes, carrots, kale, cumin, coriander, and more — giving baby a dish to dive into and explore! It’s packed with nutritious protein from the chickpeas, vitamin A, C, K, and potassium from the veggies. All this in a one-pot meal.

Korma (With a Vegan Option)

As you are all probably aware, my 12 year old son is vegetarian (and my husband is solidarity), however, Dylans favourite food in the ENTIRE world is korma. My korma .This is a great dish to make into a vegan one and so easy too. Replace the Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt and replace the chicken with tofu. To cook the tofu, just coat in cornflour before frying in a pan with a little rapeseed oil over a medium heat. Once cooked leaved aside until the sauce is cooked, then add at the very end. This keeps the tofu lovely and crispy and helps it to stay together.
